A new moon occurs when the moon is between Earth and the Sun. As a result, the Moon appears to disappear or blend in with the rest of the dark night sky. This is the beginning of the lunar cycle. As the Moon moves through its phases, the moon becomes visible to us and grows larger. Typically, there is only one New Moon per month, but when it appears twice, it is called a Black Moon.

The New Moon represents a new beginning and is an excellent time for setting new intentions or starting new projects. It’s a great time for planting seeds for plans that you want to grow as the moon grows. Some gardeners also find it the best time to plant physical seeds as well.
