I discovered Reiki early in the pandemic while searching for holistic healing modalities that complement my tarot practice. At first, I thought it would give my tarot business more legitimacy, but now I realize how silly that was. I’m grateful that I pursued Reiki because it has been incredibly affirming and a gift to me. It led me to discover meditation, which gave me power during the isolation and fear of the pandemic. With all the loss in the world, I wanted to bring something positive. So, I took the leap and discovered Reiki. A friend of mine was making the same discovery at the same time, and we both attended Reiki schools. Our experiences were life-changing and affirming. Our spiritual journeys and insights were profound.
Since I was a child, I always felt I could heal with my hands. My parents dismissed it when I mentioned it to them. I talked a lot as a kid, so they probably thought I was just being imaginative. However, when I had pain, I would always place my hands over the affected area to send “good vibes.” So, when I discovered Reiki, which involves channeling healing energy, I was on board.
Reiki involves channeling universal life force energy to others. The energy can be harnessed and channeled through a Reiki master to the recipient. I visualize myself as a straw and the universal life force energy flowing into the top of my head and down through my hands to the person I am working on. Reiki can be performed in person or from a distance.
Sometimes, I use tarot cards to help concentrate the energy in specific areas. I like to do a 7 card chakra spread to determine where the client’s chakra are out of alignment. Then, I focus on those areas in combination with my intuitive guidance, I have had amazing results, even with skeptical people, and I feel strongly about it because it’s all about intention. Reiki is not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment, but it can help with the healing process and ease pain.
